We are our own art directors of the lives we live.

For me, life revolves around Surfing and Ceramics.

In Hawaiian, my name translates to “power of the sea” Kai meaning ocean, and Mana signifying spiritual power or life force. The ocean has always been my teacher.

Growing up on the North Shore of O‘ahu, surfing became my first creative discipline. It taught me about reading the ocean, trust my insticts and thinking fluidly, skills that translate surprisingly well to creative work.

Ceramics became a study in patience and experimentation. You shape something with intention, fire it, and see what happens. Sometimes the best results come from pushing past what you thought were possible.

Somewhere between the ocean and the pottery wheel, I learned how to think differently. How to observe, experiment, and create with intention.

We are constantly directing how we represent ourselves in this world. If this were a campaign, it might look something like this...

I will be moving to New York this summer and looking foward to having the opportunity to bring that mindset into a creative environment, to learn, and contribute to work that pushes culture forward.
